About

My first vivid memory of a sporting evening was watching Joan Benoit Samuelson win the women’s marathon in the 1984 Olympics when I was 5.  When my mother explained how far she had run, I was horrified.

I’ve dabbled in running all my life, though mostly as a sprinter.  My people are all fast-twitch, and distance running really only crept in after grad school as an antidote to long work days.  Mostly at the urging of a friend, I signed up for my first half marathon six years ago.  I fell in love with training and racing, and have been at it ever since.  I’ve been Paleo for about three years, and am constantly trying to tweak and hack my way to better nutrition, more resilience, and faster times.  In my real life, I am an architect living in Brooklyn.
